A woman meets a man online and falls in love. They start dating, quickly get married, and he moves in.But something just isn’t quite right.
Debra Newell, the woman in this case, seemed blind to her new beau’s flaws. But her daughters instinctively knew that this man, John, was hiding something. And they set out to find out what it was.

This is the premise of Dirty John, a true crime podcast for the Los Angeles Times. At the same time, the very first episode starts off with a police officer reading off an autopsy report, so you kind of know where this is headed.
To be honest, we weren’t sure whether to choose this podcast this week. The goal of Podcast Delivery is helping you discover new podcasts, and most people don’t need help discovering Dirty John. It’s been on top of the iTunes charts for about two weeks and has been covered in the Guardian and the New Yorker.
But on the off chance you hadn’t yet heard about it, we just couldn’t risk you missing out on what will likely be one of this year’s most talked about podcasts.
Hope you enjoy it,
Stephen and Evan
