Dirty John. Dr. Death. Both of these absolute smash podcasts hit our earbuds in 2018 thanks to Wondery, so the second they dropped latest podcast, Over My Dead Body, we knew it was going to land on our list.

With their new project, the story isn’t so much about what happens when a shady character manages to manipulate his way to violence. Rather, it’s about what happens when someone who seems completely normal is driven past their breaking point.

Season one of Over My Dead Body, called “Tally,” follows the case of a seemingly perfect marriage gone awry. Everything was going right for New York attorneys Dan and Wendi, until it wasn’t. A split lead to a hard-fought divorce, and then all the sudden Dan was on the evening news, having been shot and killed in his car.

What went so wrong? How did a situation that seemed on the outside to be so great, turn deadly?
