We all love a good true crime podcast; stories of mystery and murder really drove the growth of the entire industry.

At the same time, listeners are so separated from the brutality of the crimes. It’s the podcasters who do the intense research, exposing themselves to the gritty details, to the crime scene photos or videos. They filter out so much of the horror to create stories that we can listen to on the way to work or as we work out in the gym — a quick escape from reality. But imagine seeing and reading about murder, day in and day out. Imagine the toll that must take…

Insomniac is a new podcast about killers, but it’s also the story of the podcast host. It’s about how his work totally changed his life, preventing him from sleeping most nights and giving him nightmares even when he could. It’s about someone who can no longer escape the stories he’s telling.

This isn’t like any true crime podcast you’ve heard before. Have a listen and let us know what you think.
