We all know how powerful a book can be. They can teach you to believe in magic, believe in yourself, find a new job, or make a difference in the world. They can also teach you how to kill people and get away with it.

The book “Hit Man: A Technical Manual for Independent Contractors,” lived up to its title promise when it inspired a 1993 triple murder. Thankfully, the book also helped police better understand the crime.
