Vocal fry. Peaking mics. Recordings of recordings. Podcasts might have pushed the boundaries of creativity, but they haven’t exactly pushed the boundaries of sound engineering.

That’s one of the most refreshing aspects of Carrier, a new fiction podcast from QCode. From the first moments of the first episode, you’re treated to sounds bouncing from one headphone to the other, creating audio immersion like no podcast you’ve heard before. Then the story kicks in, and you start to forget what’s going on in the real world around you.

Carrier follows a down-on-her luck truck driver who is forced to take on some… interesting cargo in order to head back home with some money in the bank. There’s not much else we can tell you about the plot without giving it away.What we can say is that usually Podcast Delivery shares about one fiction podcast per year. They need to be really good to enter the rotation and Carrier fits the bill.
