#198 June 21st, 2021 [The Next Call]

The creators of the acclaimed CBC podcast Someone Knows Something have returned with a new podcast that aims to investigate unsolved cases by recounting victims' stories while also eliciting new evidence from friends, acquaintances, family and community members.

The Next Call was produced while the world was on lock-down undoubtedly making it a challenge in some aspects but like everyone else during the pandemic, phone calls and video calls would bring people together to connect or collaborate.

Host David Ridgen places those phone and those video calls to anyone with information about the cases he's looking to re-spark an interest in.

The first case spans 5 episodes and looks into the disappearance of 15-year-old Melanie Ethier. Ethier, a teenager, vanished in the early morning on Sunday, September 29, 1996. She only had a kilometre to walk home but never made it, disappearing without a trace. The police and everybody else suspect foul play.
