#208 August 30th, 2021 [Bad Blood: The Final Chapter]

You may have heard about the fascinating train-wreck that is Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes. In fact, you may have heard it from us waaaay back in February 2019 when we recommended you listen to The Dropout.

Frankly, the story was absurdly entertaining then and when we found out that a whole new series of related controversies were getting the podcast treatment, well, we were cautiously excited — how much more is there to tell?

With the trial about to start and legal discoveries abound, it turns out there is A LOT more to this story.

Putting aside that Theranos was a complete house of cards, Bad Blood: The Final Chapter focuses on Elizabeth Holmes's authenticity and character (or lack thereof) and how she continues to project an image of whatever helps her escape reality and truth.

Heading into her trial, one thing is made clear: Holmes plans to soften her image and lay blame on somebody else. Fresh episodes will land in your feed as the trial unfolds and as we learn about the latest ridiculous tactic she employs.

We're just glad that this snake-oil saleswoman wasn't able to exploit the COVID-19 pandemic the way she did those that were convinced of their Theranos blood test results.
