Allow us to repeat ourselves: This is not a podcast about the world ending, as easy as it may be to give in to the appeal of an apocalyptic ending like it's from a movie or something.

Despite our heavy dependency on carbon-emitting fossil fuels, there may still be a way to stave off the actual end of the world, not just the end of the world as we know it.

How We Survive gives you the chance to wrap your head around the technologies being developed so that humans reduce their impact on the planet's climate. You also learn about the business problems that come with the policies put in place to reduce emissions and soothe the planet as it fights back.

The main focus of How We Survive's inaugural season is lithium – the metal needed to make batteries and the substance driving this century's version of the gold rush. The challenge is that lithium has to be mined, and a mine's operations and profits can divide a community that just so happens to be settled atop pay dirt.

This might even act as a wake-up call for some people. The interviews give you a behind-the-scenes listen, letting you hear from the people involved in the variety of efforts to change how we exist on this planet.

Wherever you stand on an issue like this, you'll want to tune in so you can learn about how we survive the climate crisis.

Have a listen and let us know what you think,
