The thing is, everyone involved has absolutely no experience writing science fiction.

Ryan Beil, Maddy Kelly, and Mark Chavez come together to make sense of what goes into a sci-fi pilot. From whittling down the extravagant ideas they first put forward to learning how to build an elaborate and enthralling world, you get to hear what it's really like to get their sci-fi ideas off the ground.

When the sci-fi-writing comedians need a tip or if they sense their minds' tractor beams weakening, they get help from Hollywood experts who have worked on things like Star Trek, Star Wars, and Firefly. They also get to work with science fiction superstars like Neil deGrasse Tyson, Emily VanDerWerff, and Neill Blomkamp.
