Let's start off by acknowledging that there have been a lot of fresh podcasts dropping in the last little while. Even though there are plenty of podcast fish in the podcast sea, this newsletter features one fresh podcast every week.

So what do we do with the rest of the podcasts that were considered?

Well, if one fresh podcast isn't enough, Missed Deliveries is here to satisfy your craving for even more amazing podcast recommendations. Follow along for your monthly roundup of podcasts that almost made the newsletter.

With that out of the way, we're happy to report that we cast our line looking for premium quality, sustainably-sourced podcasts and came up with The Catch.

Dive into Foreign Policy’s, six-episode series about the cephalopod-catching industry, how it has evolved as humans grow more dependent on it and other seafood stocks, and where it fits within this grand, global ecosystem we’re all a part of.

Each episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at the current state of global fishing by tracking squid—from the waters off the coast of Peru to the processing plants, all the way to the restaurants, and finally to your plate.

Host Ruxandra Guidi paints a picture of an industry we may not always consider when ordering a plate of calamari or some squid ceviche. With the effects of the commercial fishing industry becoming more and more impactful to everyday life, it's crucial that we stay informed of how our eco and industrial systems are connected and what causes them to change.
