What if, in the not-so-distant future, people gain the ability to read minds?

While I’m sure you’re already thinking about the possibilities of using such an ability, I’ll stop you right there. Chances are those thoughts are hyper-romanticized versions of what you would do if you could tap into the minds of the people around you.

And, as luck would have it your mind-reading abilities would be outlawed and you’d have to hide your true identity day-in and day-out; at least this is how things could play out if Narcissa is any indication.

As you reach for your earbuds, make sure you move Narcissa to the top of your listening queue so you can take in the story of Sid and her family, all working to keep Sid’s secret while living in the future’s Los Angeles. You’re probably piecing together that there’s more to this story and you’re right – when a string of gruesome murders are suspected to have been committed by a mind reader, Sid’s life quickly starts to unravel and you end up completely drawn in.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up the possibility of Narcissa being inspired, at least in part, by Neuralink — the Elon Musk-founded neurotechnology company that intends to facilitate telepathic communication via brain-embedded computer chips.

As far-fetched as that idea may seem, there’s a good chance the world’s richest man, and possibly the palest billionaire will bring the tech to life; once again changing how humans exist and operate on this planet.

Narcissa does a couple of things really well, and that’s all thanks to it being a QCODE podcast. Its intriguing plot points and captivating audio mixing are hallmarks of the genre, but some of that is upstaged by its premise; which will make any sci-fi fan keen to listen in.

But, I’m no mind reader and the only thing I know for sure is that you’re a fan of podcasts.

Have a listen and let us know what you think.
