While we aren’t sharing a podcast focused on Black culture, history, or the Black Lives Matter movement, here is a list of nine podcasts by Black voices you should check out.
It’s hard to believe that CBC’s Uncover is already in its seventh iteration.
From the secret world of the NXIVM cult to the underreported missing and murdered men in Toronto’s Gay Village, the podcast has covered some really important, really surprising stories. For this season, the focus shifts to police accountability (...timely, right?). Glen Assoun spent 17 years in prison for the murder of Brenda Way. Those 17 years were stolen from an innocent man.
This is a tale of missing evidence, a wrongful conviction, and a totally, totally flipped police investigation. And at the end of it all, there is no justice for Way or her family.
Have a listen and share what you think.
