#266: Technology Cuts Like a Knife

NYT's RSS feed swap, plus: billionaires in the headlines!

Last week we passed up the opportunity to feature Kara Swisher's newest podcast. This week, we're ready to feature her fellow journalists Kevin Roose (Rabbit Hole) and Casey Newton (Platformer) on Hard Fork.

βœ”οΈ Namedrop quota met.

But before we get into it, there's something a bit off with this latest show from the New York Times. It seems as though Hard Fork may find its way to your listening queue even if you don't intend to follow it. That's because it inherited the RSS feed for Swisher's recently sunset Sway.

This is the closest Podcast Delivery will probably ever get to breaking the news on questionable podcasting practices but Sway's pull is giving Hard Fork a leg up.

Can't argue against a good head start, but also – Newton is Swisher's tenant.

Do with that information what you will.

No matter how you slice it up, there's a reason to add or keep this in your feed. Even though you're guaranteed to hear about at least one billionaire with an unhealthy want need to be in the headlines.

Once you do tune-in in earnest, you'll be ushered by Roose and Newton as they explore and make sense of the latest in the rapidly changing world of tech. Probably most impressive is the continued commitment to transparency from both hosts with their Hard Fork Transparency Report, which rounds out the first episode of a podcast rooting itself in the court of impartial musings about where, how, and why technology is the way it is.

Keep in mind that there's a good reason to keep your ear to the ground. So, you may as well take all that information in from proven journalists with a mind on the holistic effects of technology.

Have a listen and share what you think.
